Exit Through The Gift Shop

I really enjoyed watching Exit Through the Gift Shop. I've always been interested in street art and it was very cool to see how each of the artists go about doing it in their own unique way. I think Thierry's story was inspiring in the way that he started just filming the artists as they went around and ended up being more successful then all of the ones that he met. In graffiti art you have the ability to express yourself by using stencils, different techniques, and an array of colors. The cool thing about street art is that anyone can see it. I have seen plenty of street art when I went to Atlanta. Street Art can be used as a inspiration, especially if someone is having a bad day and they see where someone had wrote a quote, like Thierrys "Life Is Beautiful." Just seeing that simple phrase can be used as a reminder that you can always find the positive in something negative. I think the movie wanted to show that street art isn't just a bunch of hood rats out trying to be rebels and mess peoples things up, but people are just expressing themselves for the world to see. I wish more people would start doing street art. I love how they took random things that never would happen and stick them together to make a delightfully pleasing portrait to look at. I also appreciate how humble Thierry stays through out the whole movie, even though he is making millions from his work you can truly see that he loves what he is doing and money isn't everything to him.
